Interhouse Cross-Country on Thursday 11 September 2008: please remember that it is compulsory for every girl in the school to take part in this, even if they just walk the course. It is always an enjoyable event and we invite parents to come along and support their daughters.
A number of Rhenish girls and teachers took part in the Total Sports Ladies’ Race on Women’s Day (9 aUGUST 2008). Everyone finished in style, but none more so than Dominique Scott who was the first junior home and second overall in an amazing time of under 35 minutes. She is now off to George this weekend to compete in the Western Cape Cross Country Tournament. We wish her the best of luck, and know she will make us proud. Go Dom!
On Wednesday 30 July our U19 girls took part in a Cross Country meeting at Hottentots Holland High School. The format of the race was a relay: 4 girls had to run 2km each. Undeterred by the rainy conditions, our girls ran beautifully and won by a huge margin of 2 minutes - congratulations to Carla Beyers, Amy Burger, Sasha Guthrie and Dominique Scott!
Apart from the many competitions that our girls
participate in during the season, the annual interhouse
cross country is a big event at school. This is
a compulsory event and true sportmanship can be
seen throughout the day!
Congratulations to Amy Burger who was the first
Junior at the Cape Town leg of the Energade Triathlon
Series held in Worcester in October 2007.
