Another year in the life of Rhenish Girls’ High School

The past year was another year filled with excellent academic
performances - the product of dedicated teaching and learning.
It was also a year of playing and excelling on the sports fields,
the courts and in the pools around the country. It was a year filled
with a rich variety of cultural events - singing, debating, performing
music, drawing, painting, acting, and dancing. It was a year of
service to the community, the environment and the less fortunate.
But even more important it was a year of camaraderie, friendship
and just having fun. Unfortunately, to a number of learners and
educators in the Rhenish community this was also a year of loss,
pain and personal sorrow. We share in your joy and sadness.

Governing Body Chairman letter

In the day to day activities of the Rhenish school community you will see the mission of this extraordinary school in action: “Helping all of its learners to develop their full potential and a healthy sense of worth; developing a strong sense of values, justice and honesty; promoting happiness and fulfillment in a sound educational environment and enabling all of its learners to become responsible, caring and productive citizens.”

The launch of the Rhenish 150 Book on 16 September 2009 provided evidence of the long and rich history of the Rhenish. It is with pride and gratitude that we will celebrate 150 years of education in 2010. May I invite all of you to join in the variety of festivities that will take place. We hope that the ambitious new Rhenish Centre project will become a wonderful new chapter in the history of the school.

I wish to thank the principal, Mrs Commaile, and her team of dedicated and caring staff members for contributing so much not only to the performances of the girls, but also to the growing personhood of every single girl. To see them happy and confident is one of the most valuable blessings in life.

Thank you to the members of the School Governing Body, the Parent Teachers' Association and the Old Girls' Union for keeping the spirit of Rhenish alive and well.
I also want to thank all the parents for their support not only to their daughters, but also to the school in the past year.

Lastly, to our precious girls. Thank you for all the joy of the past year, for being so much part of our lives, for allowing us to see the world through your eyes, for giving us hope. Go on! Learn, live, love, laugh, lead, run, play, pray, perform, contribute, create, share and care. You are the privileged ones: rooted in the glorious Rhenish past of 150 years and positioned for the future!
