WCED 2027 Grade 8 Applications

2027 Grade 8 Admissions are CLOSED

Please note the following dates:

  • 10 March - 14 April 2026: Grade 8 2027 applications open / closes.
  • 15 April 2026 onwards - Applications received after 14 April 2026 will be considered a “Late Application”.  Late Applications will only be processed after all applications received on time have been actioned and only if there are still places available.
  • 15 April - 18 May 2026: Schools process grade 8 applications.
  • 28 May 2026: WCED System displays the outcome of the grade 8 applications.
  • 28 May - 10 June 2026: Parents are informed of the outcome on the WCED portal.
  • 28 May - 15 June 2026: Parents confirm acceptance of the grade 8 placement on the WCED portal.

*Note that for Hostel applications, the Expression of Interest form is required after completing the WCED application.

WCED 2027 Grade 9 - 11 Applications

Admissions are currently CLOSED. Kindly note that admissions will open at midday on Monday, 3 August.

Important: The WCED has implemented enhancements to the Grade 9–12 transfer application process for 2027. Applicants are required to follow the application process as outlined on the WCED Admissions Portal.

Please ensure that you select the correct reason for your transfer application and submit your application in accordance with the instructions and supporting document requirements applicable to your selected application type on the WCED Admissions Portal.

Please note the following dates:

  • 03 August - 17 August 2026: System opens / closes for transfer requests.
  • 18 August 2026 onwards - Applications received after 17 August 2026 will be considered a “Late Application”.  Late Applications will only be processed after all applications received on time have been actioned and only if there are still places available.
  • 18 August - 04 September 2026: Schools process transfer requests.
  • 16 September - 18 September 2026: Parents are informed of the outcome on the WCED portal.
  • 16 September - 30 September 2026: Parents confirm acceptance of placement on the WCED portal. - Please confirm within this period.

Please note that the school does not allow grade 12 applications / transfers.
